A Lengthy Island man impersonating a police officer tried to take the legislation into his personal arms when he pulled over a van — and located it filled with actual detectives, police mentioned Saturday.

In line with Nassau County police, Valiery Portlock, 25, was driving his black Nissan Sentra on Hicksville Highway close to Roosevelt Ave in Hicksville at about 11 a.m. on Friday when he drove up behind the van and activated his air horn and emergency lights.

When the van stopped in site visitors, the detectives from the Nassau PD’s Electronics Squad received out, recognized themselves and tried to method Portlock’s automobile.

That’s when the fake cop fled the scene, swerving into oncoming site visitors and rushing onto the Lengthy Island Expressway, police mentioned.

Nassau County Freeway Patrol noticed him shortly after and pulled him over to make the arrest.
