Jamie Mintz, Vietnam vet killed by teen granddaughter snuck in.

Jamie Mintz is a Vietnam Battle veteran killed in his residence by a teen boy his granddaughter snuck into their Detroit residence, his household instructed Fox 2 Detroit.

Mintz, 70, was shot and killed in his residence Monday by a 16-year-old boy his granddaughter snuck into the house, members of the family mentioned. The teenager was the woman’s boyfriend, WXYZ reported.

Mintz was killed after an argument with the teenager.

Detroit police say the suspect left the house with the gun.

It’s unclear if the gun used belonged to the suspect or the sufferer.

Police say Mintz and the teenager fought over the gun and Mintz was shot within the chest throughout the wrestle.

The capturing occurred “within the midst of the argument they usually started to tussle over the weapon,” Detroit police mentioned.

Police haven’t but situated the suspect.


Mintz Was an ‘Straightforward-Going’ Vietnam Battle Veteran

Relations instructed Fox 2 that Mintz was a Vietnam Battle veteran.

They described the grandfather as ““laid-back,” “easy-going,” a “good man, a great father, a great uncle, a great brother-in-law, a great husband.”

Mintz lately celebrated his 70th birthday.

He lived together with his granddaughter, whose age has not been reported.

Relations mentioned Mintz had safety cameras exterior of his residence and hope the footage helps police monitor down the suspect.


The ‘Younger Man’ Didn’t ‘Wish to Go away,’ Household Members Say

Mintz’s niece Unite Clemons instructed WDIV that Mintz “requested the younger man to depart.”

“He didn’t need to go away and sadly he shot him,” she defined.

“He bought shot 3 times,” she mentioned.

“It’s household. You don’t even don’t have any phrases,” she added. “There’s no phrases.”
