The man who punched an EMT worker in Brooklyn called 911 on himself that day because he was drunk, prosecutors said at his arraignment Saturday.

Hussain Maqubool, 43, allegedly socked the medic in the back of the ambulance at East 15th Street and Kings Highway in Midwood around 12:15 p.m. on Aug. 7, authorities said.

Maqubool was arrested Friday after cops spotted him on Coney Island Avenue.

“I am the Muslim you’re looking for. I’m sorry. I call 911 because I’m drunk. Can I go home, can I just go home? Can I just get deported,” he alleged told officers, according to prosecutors at his arraignment Saturday.

His defense attorney argued the EMT violently put Maqubool in the ambulance and that there was a large language barrier between the two.

Maqubool was charged with assault and held on $2,500 cash bail.
